I became a Canadian in 1999.
It was one of the most forward-thinking things my father ever did for our family.
He understood that while the Middle East is full of beauty, culture, and strength..the world doesn’t always see it that way.
And instead of getting defensive, he took action.
He made us Canadians.
This post isn’t about me.
It’s about immigrants.
It’s about the people who leave behind everything they know.
Not because they don’t love their home countries, but because they believe in a better future.
Immigrants are risk-takers.
They’re dreamers.
They’re the ones who rebuild their lives from scratch, often in languages they didn’t grow up speaking, and still find a way to win.
And some of the most successful businesses, political leaders, and communities have been shaped by immigrant energy.
I’m proud of every entrepreneur who left behind comfort to chase opportunity.
I’m proud of every parent who took a leap of faith so their kids could grow up safer, freer, and with more possibility.
I’m proud to be part of that story.
Canada gave us that chance.
And I never take it for granted. Visit my LinkedIn profile and send me a DM
